MP visits Spectrum Plastics to Open New Print Room

15th March 2016

Stockport MP, Ann Coffey, joined the Spectrum Print and Plastics team last week to officially open their new print room.

Ann was delighted to meet most of the 22 employees and keen to find out more about how Spectrum manufacture loyalty cards, keyfobs and plastic cards, such as library cards for local councils.

During the visit Ann spent time with the two apprentices at Spectrum. As the majority of the workforce have been with the company for over twelve years, and both apprentices and the existing staff gain new skills from one another and gain from the new technologies being introduced by the company.  Spectrum Plastics is a shining example of local small businesses.

The investment in a new digital print department has allowed Spectrum to move ahead -  securing jobs and employing more people in the future.

Ann Coffey said during the visit:

"I really enjoyed my visit to Spectrum and I am very pleased they have been able to invest in the future of the business. I was delighted to meet a committed workforce and learn about how our library cards are made."

Kath Doran, Managing Director, commented:

"Ann’s visit to Spectrum was an absolute pleasure.  She showed great interest in what the company is about and the roles of people within the business, asking relevant questions and gaining knowledge on several levels."
